Birdhouses have a long history in Turkish architecture, appearing in buildings from monumental mosques to modest homes. Traditionally made from wood or natural stone, they provided shelter for birds while reflecting the craftsmanship and values of their time. Many stone examples have survived and remain symbols of compassion, care, and respect for nature. Mercy reinterprets this tradition through contemporary design and digital production. Developed for modern façade applications, it creates a protected nesting space within the building envelope. Its sculptural form is designed for CNC fabrication, combining natural stone craftsmanship with current architectural and manufacturing methods.
